Home Sweet HoCo: Best Restaurants

IMG_4017.jpg

Welcome to this week’s installment of the Home Sweet HoCo blog series! In #HomeSweetHoCo, we bring you weekly updates on everything Howard County has to offer in one place, distraction-free, cost-free, and born out of a love for the place we call home.

In honor of Howard County's Restaurant Weeks, Home Sweet HoCo is bringing you our favorite eateries, as well as the most family friendly places to eat in HoCo! Choosing where to eat, especially with kids, is a conundrum we’ve all faced. So the next time you’re looking for a good place to go out, check out one of these restaurants!

Our Favorites

Ananda

Maple Lawn’s trendiest new spot, Ananda matches a great ambience with a fresh take on Indian cuisine. The restaurant serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, and offers carry out for most items on the dinner menu. Open Tuesday-Sunday.

Facci Italian Restaurant

Facci is known for bringing taste, value, and ambience all together in one. The restaurant has become a local favorite that they recently opened a second location in Ellicott City. Known for their pizzas, Facci is dedicated to only serving traditional Neapolitan cuisine. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday, and carry out is available at both locations.

Check out their menu on their website.

Grille 620

We love Grille 620 for their unique American cuisine and rustic, yet upscale, dining atmosphere. Their menu focuses on seafood and steak, and features only the freshest locally-sourced ingredients. Brunch is available on the weekends, lunch is available on Fridays, and dinner and gluten-free menus are available all week.

The White Oak Tavern

One of Howard County’s newest favorites, The White Oak Tavern pairs American cuisine made exclusively of local ingredients with a wide range of craft beers. Their menu changes with every season, but always delivers high quality food.

To see this season’s menu, check out their website.

Bonus: White Oak serves brunch every day of the week, and offers bottomless brunch cocktails on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It’s one of our favorite brunch spots!

Best Places for the Family

El Azteca

El Azteca has been voted the best Mexican in HoCo! They offer authentic cuisine in a fun, upbeat environment. For the kiddos, they offer a children’s menu with American favorites, as well as smaller portions of their Mexican dishes. Even better, they offer signature margaritas for parents!

Find menus on their website.

Shannon’s Saloon

Shannon’s has been a HoCo staple since 1982, and for good reason: they offer a friendly environment with arguably the best bar food in the county. The kid’s menu has lots of variety, and their regular menu also features many kid friendly foods. The prices are very reasonable, and you can always count on Shannon’s for a good meal!

Tino’s Italian Bistro

Tino’s is the place to go for classic Italian dining in a comfortable atmosphere. The kid’s menu features their classic entrées in smaller portion sizes, and on Wednesdays, kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée! The adult menu features even more Italian meals, and prices are great for their portion sizes.
