Home Sweet HoCo: Best Coffee Shops and Bakeries

Untitled_design_2-9.pngWelcome to this week’s installment of the Home Sweet HoCo blog series! In #HomeSweetHoCo, we bring you weekly updates on everything Howard County has to offer in one place, distraction-free, cost-free, and born out of a love for the place we call home.

With their strong aromas, cozy chairs, and warm welcomes, coffee shops are very appealing spots for you to grab your morning cup of joe. Check out these local coffee shops and bakeries that serve only the best coffee and cuisine!

Bonaparte Breads

Nestled in Historic Savage Mill, Bonaparte Breads is known for their authentic French pastries, breads, and coffee settled in a quaint atmosphere. Their cuisine is made in house and baked daily to ensure freshness, and you are greeted with the warm aroma of fresh pastries as you walk in! Visit their café and bakery, or stop by local farmers’ markets to try their treats.

Casual Gourmet

Artisan foods, cookware, and gifts aren’t all this store has to offer! Along with their gourmet food and pantry shop, Casual Gourmet has a café to suit your sandwich, crépe, and coffee needs. From sweet to savory, their fare is likely to leave your tummy full and happy!

Mad City Coffee

A favorite among Columbia residents, Mad City Coffee offers a huge variety of coffee, breakfast, and lunch options. Their coffee is roasted in house to ensure the best freshness and flavor for every single cup. The café offers free WiFi, so you can bring your work and enjoy the cozy ambiance!

Petit Louis Le Comptoir

Petit Louis is known for their decadent fare at their restaurant, and hidden adjacent to the restaurant is the lesser-known Le Comptoir. Much like a café, Le Comptoir offers pastries, coffee, and French cuisine in a more casual environment. Stop by for breakfast or lunch, or for dessert after your meal!

Riverside Roastery & Espresso

Riverside offers a wide variety of coffees that are excellently paired with their selection of sandwiches and other food options. WiFi is also free in the café, so you can relax and enjoy their comfortable environment while working.

Sidamo Coffee and Tea

Open for breakfast and lunch, Sidamo is a perfect place to grab a cup of gourmet coffee or tea with a delicious meal. The coffee and tea is organic, and they offer vegan food options as well. Free WiFi is offered in the café, as well as ample seating to work or eat.

We hope to see Bean Hollow and the Little French Market back up and running in Ellicott City as soon as they can. We love and support you guys!
