Whether you’re looking to go on a spooky ghost tour, or even if you just want to show off your snazzy costume, there are plenty of Halloween activities for the whole family in HoCo! We’ve rounded up the top five HoCo happenings you can attend to usher in your trick-or-treating tradition!

Historic Savage Mills Ghost Tours

Historic Savage Mill hosts ghost tours telling the stories of the spirits that roam the area. See what all the fuss is about by taking a tour with Marty Schoppert, a costumed, story-telling expert who brings the dead back to life with his tales! The tour is recommended for children 8 and over, and tickets cost $12.

Haunted Experience at Rockburn Park

Head to Rockburn Park for a spooky hayride in the woods featuring stories of ghosts and ghouls! Recommended for children over 7, The Haunted Experience is Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 from 6:30-10 PM. Children under 7 can attend a not-so-spooky hayride on Sunday, October 30 from 2-4 PM.

Halloween Costume Parades at Clarks Elioak Farm

Rides, face-painting, and costume parades await you on Halloween weekend at Clarks Elioak Farm! Parades take place at 11 AM and 2 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission to the farm is free, but admission to the petting farm costs $6.

Creepy Crawler Halloween Workshop

Hosted by the Swellness Center, The Creepy Crawler Halloween Workshop is a perfect activity to dress up in your costume, learn how to make creepy crawler spider pops, and stay for open play! The workshop is Friday, October 28 at 10:30 AM, and it costs $35 per child.

Halloween Fun Run

Come dressed in your favorite costume to walk, run, or do some mummy kicks at Howard County Parks and Rec’s Halloween Fun Run! Join the Howard County Parks & Rec for a fun one-mile run for the whole family. Following the run, all participants are welcome to stay for Halloween craft-making, and every attendee will go home with a Halloween goody bag. Race begins at 9:30 AM on October 29
