Crisp air, beautiful scenery, and, of course, pumpkin-flavored treats are just some of our favorite things about fall, especially in Howard County. Make the most of this season by checking out our favorite things to do this autumn!

Explore the Autumn Activities at Larriland Farm

Crates_of_Apples_in_Orchard.jpgGet lost in the corn mazes, adventure on a hayride, and savor traditional fall foods before you go apple and pumpkin picking at Larriland Farm. Growing up, venturing to Larriland Farm was one of my favorite things to do in the fall season. Why? Well, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the fall weather with your family and friends and make memories that will last a lifetime (trust me!). Plan your perfect trip to Larriland and reserve your spot on their pumpkin hayrides here.

Take a Shopping Trip

Fall is the perfect time to visit the local shops in Howard County, grab some coffee (or Pumpkin Spice Latté), take a stroll, and do some shopping. The Mall in Columbia is a go-to for many, but Howard County also has great and unique shopping in Historic Savage Mill, Ellicott City, and Maple Lawn. In the midst of their recovery, stores are beginning to open in downtown Ellicott City, so check out their website to see a listing of where to go.

Visit the HoCo Libraries

Fun fact: the Miller Branch library in Ellicott City has been ranked the best library in the nation, which isn’t surprising considering the technology, spaces, and abundance of resources available there. The Miller Branch library and the other four Howard County libraries hold a variety of activities every day for people of all ages. Bring your kids for pajama time or finger painting, take your teens for book clubs, or pack up the whole family for a movie screening. After all, Fall is the best time to cuddle up and enjoy a new book, so why not stop by one of the five locations to peruse their selection!?

Spend the Day at Clark’s Elioak Farm

Whether you’re looking for pumpkin picking, hot apple cider, or a petting farm this fall, you can find it all at Clark’s Elioak Farm. Every weekend in October hosts different fall activities, including rope mazes, Halloween parades, and pumpkin chucking. The classic Enchanted Forest rides are open all season, as well as the petting farm and geomining. Enjoy the outdoor fun while you still can!
