Discovering MoCo: Best Orchards & Pumpkin Patches

moco Pumpkin Patches

Winery outings, fall fashion, cooler weather, and outdoor activities are a few of the reasons why I love the fall season. But, of all the fun fall festivities you can enjoy, my favorite pass-times are trips to orchards and pumpkin patches for a memorable day of family bonding and good food. Check out some of the best orchards and pumpkin patches in Montgomery County by planning a weekend outing to one of these fall destinations!

Butler's Orchard

The buzz in the office around this time of year is all about Butler's Orchard. Butler's Orchard, located in Germantown, is much more than a pumpkin farm. You can also pick your own fruits and vegetables, participate in the pumpkin festival, and enjoy hayrides and bonfires.

Rock Hill Orchard

If you're looking for a place the whole family can enjoy, this is it! Rock Hill Orchard offers an array of activities for all ages. Not only are they an orchard and farm market, but they’re also a creamery! Rock Hill allows you to pick your own fruits and vegetables, explore their corn maze, and even feed their calves.

Gaver Farm

Gaver Farm, located in New Market, has a little something for everyone. Between September 9 and October 31, they host a Fall Fun Festival that is open every day and features a corn maze, farm animal feedings, photo centers, games, mini mazes, a grill, and a bakery. They also host special events, such as school tours, birthday parties, youth groups and scout outings. Even better—if you're already thinking about Christmas, you can get your tree there too!
