Community Spotlight: 7 Reasons to Buy in Monarch Ridge or Emerald Farm
Apex Note: This blog is part of a series we're doing with some of our real estate partners spotlighting the great communities in our area! Thanks to Peggy Magnanelli with Re/Max for this great piece on the Monarch Ridge and Emerald Farm Communities in Frederick, Maryland.
Monarch Ridge and Emerald Farm are two communities nestled in historic Frederick - one of the top cities to live in Maryland! These communities are very much sought after for their convenient locations, friendly atmospheres, and of course, their beautiful homes. Here are seven reasons why I love these communities and think you will too!
- Close to the city, but with a country feel. See the sun set over the mountains in the distance as you drive down butterfly lane, and pass the Humberson farm and visit the cows on Hunting Ridge Drive.
- Incredible schools. The middle and high schools are very highly rated! There is also a brand new elementary school planned for the communities, which has been a huge draw for them.
- Convenience. Monarch Ridge and Emerald Farm are close to everything on the west end town, and there are many different shops and stores, with even a new Super Walmart store close by.
- Commuting. Most people in Frederick City work in Upper Montgomery County, Washington DC, and Baltimore; and 70, 270, 15, and 340 are easily accessible for commuting to work.
- Parks. Monarch Ridge has a park inside the neighborhood with a back stop for baseball or softball, a playground, tennis court, and basketball courts. Emerald Ridge has a park with a pavilion and bathrooms, and you can even rent it out for just $35.
- Community gardens. Come grow your garden and socialize with your neighbors— all at once!
- Future growth. Not only is a new elementary school planned for these communities, but a brand new regional park with walking trails, an aquatic center, and more is also in the works. There is so much potential for the area in addition to what it already offers!
