Nov. 20, 2010: Apex participated in the Fannie Mae Walkathon. On November 20, 2010, Apex participated in the Fannie Mae Walkathon for the Homeless in support of N Street Village.

Nov. 2010: Apex hosted a food drive for Martha's Table. On November 23, 2010, Apex donated 36 turkeys and more to Martha's Table to help provide Thanksgiving meals for the needy.

On December 8, Apex donated 4 boxes of educational materials, DVDs, books, and CDs to Turning the Page in support of DC schools.

Sept. 2010: Apex donates Backpacks and Supplies to Needy School in Silver Spring, Maryland

In September 2010, Apex Home Loans donated new backpacks and school supplies to Glen Haven Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland. The 72 backpacks went to students who either did not have a backpack for the new school year or were using old backpacks from previous years.

Keller Shinholser

 
 
Meals on Wheels - Keller has delivered meals to those unable to make their own meals for over 20 years.
 
Shepherd's Table - Homeless Resource center located in Silver Spring, MD.  Keller is on their Development board in a continuing effort to fundraise for those less fortunate in her community.  With her husband, they host a charity event every year with Shepherd's Table as the recipient.
 
Senior Connections - She drives seniors to appointents that they might otherwise be unable to attend.  Mostly, Keller takes them to doctor and other medical appointments
 
Friends House - Keller drives the bus so that the seniors can go to different events.  It can be as mundane as the grocery store or as exciting as the National Geographic building for the Terra Cotta Warrior exhibition.
 
After Prom at Springbrook High School and Paint Branch High School -  Keller organizes and runs the food portion of the MADD sponsored After Proms at the two high schools every year.
 
Sandy Spring Friends Meeting - Keller is a member of both the Membership & Spiritual Care Committee and Personal Finance Committee. Her committee oversees the care of their members and attenders in times of need.  She also assists the church in their efforts to lend money to those under its care during times of distress.
