  • Recommended appraisers Please note that the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC) requires that in order for an appraisal to be valid for use in a conventional loan transaction, the appraisal ordering and management process must have been handled by the originating lender in compliance with the HVCC. With that in mind, and in order to avoid the requirement for additional appraisals needed to obtain financing and the incurring additional charges, we recommend that any appraisals ordered for valuation purposes in cases where financing will be needed shortly, be ordered through the originating lender.  Linked here is a list of appraisers we may use in connection with an appraisal order. Appraisals can be ordered directly through these appraisers as well, though keep in mind that appraisals NOT ordered through the originating lender cannot be used for financing, regardless of whether they were performed by an appraiser on the approved list.
